ABOUT AMANDA GEORGE

I am a qualified and experienced proofreader and copy-editor with several years of professional experience working at Cambridge University in the production and editing of high-quality academic and fundraising publications, including brochures, magazines, newsletters, annual records and reports. I have a good degree in Latin and English from Nottingham University, where I was also Editor of the student magazine. I also have a great deal of experience working within the academic sphere (international students, academics and colleges/university departments) and I understand and work within the ethical guidelines pertaining to students.

Most recently I was the Publications Officer at St John's College, one of the largest colleges in the world-famous Cambridge University. This role required not only attention to detail but also flexibility, superb organisation skills and an ability to deal with people at all levels and to deliver top-quality literature. I am proficient in Italian; I am a fast and accurate touch-typist with good IT skills; and I have worked as a freelance proofreader with several publishing houses and numerous private individuals, university students, academics, researchers and corporate clients.
